1. Following our mission, Expeditions offer the highest value at the lowest possible cost. However, Expeditions are more expensive than Immersion  placements―for a reason. Among other things, as an Expedition team member you travel with two Expedition Leaders who are recognized experts in their fields and provide educational support, mentorship and 24/7 guidance and supervision throughout the experience. Expeditions also include extensive travel throughout the country and tourist visits to world renowned sites. If you are looking for a more affordable option, see our Immersion program.
2. In addition to the program fee, there is a US$200 placement fee due upon your being accepted into the Expedition. We donate a portion of the placement fee to the UBELONG Fund, our philanthropic arm that supports educational and research initiatives for our former volunteers.

5. The week of May 21, which is approximately 60 days before the start date, we will determine if the Expedition is happening based on the number of people who have joined. The deadline for applying is April 10, 2012.
